BROOKE MACNICOL

One of my favorite college professors once asked the class to think of one word that would encompass our future careers. My word was Passion. It brings my designs to a different level, it impacts my relationship with the client, it causes me to jump up and down when we see the finished product, it impacts my daily life in everything I do. My life’s motto: Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, or nothing at all.

My curiosity with design started as a child. I was a very artistic minded little girl with an out-of-the-box imagination. My parent’s nourished this with art classes, allowing me to redesign my own room at 13 and various other expenditures that molded me. My parent’s, successful entrepreneurs themselves, introduced me to Dallas Market at a mere age of 9. I watched closely as they worked long hours and persevered. With time, I started working in the family business and procured my work ethic. Being slightly over obsessed with America’s Extreme Home Makeover I knew exactly what I wanted to do and I avidly pursued it.

I grew up in a small town called Yoder, Kansas. Upon graduating high school, I moved to a nearby larger city to expand my horizons and make a name for myself. I obtained the opportunity to gut and remodel a home in trade for free rent and oh boy did I take that! I learned remodeling in’s and out’s from pure experience – blood, sweat and a lot of tears. This home eventually lead to another and my portfolio grew as my knowledge did. The next 10 years consisted of working at a granite yard, staging homes, doing freelance design projects, prepping houses for sale, flipping 2 of my own homes and working in the building material industry. Eventually I made my way to Dallas with a design company before stepping out on my own. I thoroughly love what I do day in day out. I often wake myself up at night dreaming up different room designs and concepts. Yet, every time I’m asked to assist in a design, I am humbled and honored all over again.

To my past clients, from the bottom of my heart, I am grateful for you and pray that you enjoy your home as much as I enjoyed working on it.

To my future clients, I can’t wait to meet you and create a space that reflects you. I’m already looking forward to seeing your face when you walk into your new space.

This is the next chapter and it’s still growing! I look forward to meeting everyone, working with some great people and overall spreading a bit of my passion for this industry about. Stay tuned for some amazing transformations, success stories from clients and other design goodness!
